CRAZY Jazmen

I met Jazmen during field hockey this year too, and at first I thought she was a freshman (no joke) because of her petiteness (that's not a word, but who cares). She actually turned out to be a senior...which made me feel VERY silly for thinking she was a freshy. Soooo, yeah. I got to know her, and I found out she's a really cool person.

First of all, she isn't scared of what people think of her. She says what's on her mind and isn't afraid to speak up - ever. She values what her friends think of her though, which I think is smart. (If people didn't value what their friends thought of them no one would have friends).

Secondly, she is so cute and small (I'm sure you tire of hearing that Jazmen, and I'm sure all of these parentheses are tiring, too). She has amazing outfits too, and her blonde hair is super pretty ALL THE TIME.

Lastly, she isn't picky about who she hangs out with. She's not like the other seniors and juniors who won't talk to the sophomores (like me) and freshmen. Jazmen will talk to anybody, no matter who.

You put together such an adorable outfit at Goodwill today - good job! The shirt was ADORABLE and the shoes were totally RAD as well. Way to go for being so cutsey and thrifty at the same time! yayyyyyyy Julia!

Olivia :)

I just recently met Olivia. She is on my field hockey team and is a freshman at HHS. We've had so many hilarious times together - I'm glad we've created a steady friendship, and I hope it'll last a while! Olivia is a really easy going, fun to be around, happy go lucky kind of girl. She definitely lightens up conversations, and is SO easy to talk to. She makes you feel worthwhile when you're talking, and always looks/seems happy! Way to go Olivia!

Yesterday was my birthday and I had a wonderful day. Part of what made my day was my two good friends calling me and SINGING to me! Ashley and Brittany, thank you sooo much for being so thoughtful and taking a few minutes out of your day to call me on my special day! It made me feel loved and remembered, thank you again!!!

Deborah, Good Debor

This is Deborah! We have been friends since third or fourth grade - we've come a long way! I am SO glad we have classes together this year! You make class less boring! :)

Debor, you are SUCH an amazing girl - you know that right? You've got tons of friends, and I think that might be because YOU are a great friend. I love your outfits too, you always look so put together!! I love your hair too, it's so shiny and soft looking. If I would use one word to express you, I would use sweet. You are sooo kind, you never talk back to people rudely, you don't sass normally, you give compliments - you're sooo goooood!!!!

Tayler! I just wanted to express in words how awesome you are, and how sorry I am about your grandma passing away. You are such a fun person to be around, you always have something to talk about and find random ways to be energetic :) You have a great wardrobe - have I ever told you that? I love all of your outfits, you always look put together - even when you come to school in sweatpants! You seem like you are very confident about yourself, which I know I'm probably not the only one wishes I could be self - assured. And I love your eyes! So pretty and rare, lucky you!! Please know that your I am proud to call you my friend, and keep going strong Tayler!!! <3>

Sizzle !!

Okay, I know this picture isn't the most attractive one in the world, but it was the best one I had! Her smile is huge, she's super happy!

This is Sister Swainston (a.k.a. Sizzle), one of my Young Women's leaders. She is SO darn awesome - I look up to her in SO many ways that it might be hard to name all of them! Lemme give a try...

1. She is a GREAT mom. Every time she tells us about her kids, I can feel her love for them just radiating from her entire being. I hope I can be a mom like you someday!

2. Sizzle has such a strong testimony. Hearing her tell me how strongly she feels that the gospel is true makes me want to feel as strongly about it too!

3. She is wayyy smart. I have NO idea where she gets all of quotes, stories, information, and side note thingies - or how she stores all of them in her brain! - but she always has something to add about anything anyone's talking about!

4. Sizzle could talk forever. Literally. In Mia Maid class she interrupts with her cool little side stories because she is just bursting with things to say. I wish I had a hard time keeping quiet!

5. She is one of the most beautiful people I am acquainted with. Love her hair!!! On the inside she is so thoughtful and generous, I hope I can achieve these qualities to the extent that she has someday!

6. Sister Swainston likes food. Chocolate, to be exact. And I admire this about her because she's not afraid to admit or eat it. Women all over should totally follow your example! (if any don't already!)

I could go on naming what makes Sizzle, well, Sizzle, all day long! I'm so glad you are who you are, Sister Sizzle!! I love you sooo much!!!!

This is Claire. We have been friends for going on eleven years! That's a long time, especially for girls growing up! We've stuck together through everything..."the crap we talk, the boys we stalk..." I hope with all my heart that we can remain best buds for the rest of our lives!

But I've always admired Claire. She knows how to take control :) And during awkward situations she can break the ice easily, something I have NEVER been good at. Some words I would describe Claire with are: regal, opinionated!, elegant, gracious, dedicated, artistic, intelligent, muy bonita!, and a loyal friend. Such awesome characteristics! You know I love ya Clairebear! <3333

Maria Nicole :)

My friend Nicole recently moved to Colorado, which is depressing - because we had grown very close over the past year. In seminary we were buddies, we sat beside each other every morning for the whole year, and we had fun passing notes back and forth even though we should have been paying attention to the lesson.

We were in the same Sunday School class starting January 2009, and so I was able to see all of her ADORABLE dresses and outfits. She has impeccable taste in clothes - every time I saw her I couldn't help but tell her how much I loved her shirt, bracelet, shoes, earrings - whatever it was, it was so cute! Her hair was always sooo pretty too, I've always loved dark hair, and hers was styled differently every day! One of my favorite styles of hers was when she would curl her hair; the ringlets were so gorgeous!

One of the things I've always admired about Nicole is that she is really thoughtful. She never wanted to talk about people behind their backs, she complimented people a ton, and she was always friendly! At dances she was always floating around, meeting new people and being the funnest social butterfly you ever did see.

Nicole, I'm so sad that you moved far away from us! We've missed you so much! Your smiling face and cheerful attitude were like a ray of sunshine all day long! Keep smiling and just be yourself, you are such an inspiring person, don't change! I love ya girl!

Aunt Holly

My aunt has been one of my idols that I've looked up to for a long time, ever since I was old enough to remember that she was my aunt probably. I remember jumping on the trampoline with her a lot, and with my other aunt Marianne when I was little. I remember Holly was always making things, always getting new ideas, and sewing stuff. One of my Christmas presents from her was barbie pillows and blankets handmade by Holly.

She is soooo clever and crafty. She has her own store called the Present Pantry, and all of her products are handmade. Holly has a great sense of style, too. She isn't afraid of being herself or expressing herself. To me, she is the queen of coupons. I spent two weeks with her this summer, and helped her organize some of her coupons. At the grocery store she saved more money than she spent. That takes talent, though. Some people are too lazy to sort through ads and cut out coupons, but they don't realize how much they can save by doing so. Holly has mastered this art.

She is also an excellent party planner. She planned Marianne's wedding, and is always having little parties with the cutest themes! Whenever I am planning a party, I go to her for ideas. She makes a wonderful mother to her two kids, Trevan and Mallary. In my eyes, Holly is one of the most beautiful women I know, on the inside and out.

Holly, I hope you know how much I admire you and look up to you. Keep up all of your crafty cleverness! Thank you for being such an amazing aunt and a great person! I love you!

The Inspiration

Okay, so there is more than one reason why I decided to create this "Scatter Sunshine" blog.

1. Right now I am working on my final value experience for Personal Progress. This experience is found in Good Works #3. The requirements for this experience are as
follows:

Read Mosiah 18:7-10, and in your journal list three ways you can comfort others or help them
bear their burdens. Do the things on your list, and tell a family member or Young Women
leader about the experience and how your attitude and understanding have changed.

This particular experience I have really struggled to finish because every time I start it I
forget what I'm supposed to be working on! So, of course, this Good Works #3 was
put off until I had no more experiences to work on. I've been brainstorming ways to
make myself remember to do it, and this blog is what I came up with.

First though, I will list the three ways I am going to comfort others or help them bear
burdens: 1. I will give compliments daily, 2. I will encourage others and uplift them
instead of bringing them down, 3. I will send little notes or letters out to people that
might be in need of some comfort.

I am hoping that this little blog will make me want to work on Good Works #3.
Hopefully even after two weeks of working on this experience I will continue to work on
this blog, scattering sunshine as often as I can. I am dedicating this blog to others.
This blog will only be to compliment others and to praise and encourage them.

2. My second reason is because of my Aunt Holly. She has the coolest blog, and ever
since she made hers I've wanted to have one as well. Holly posts all kinds of uplifting
things. Her goal is to have a sunshiny blog, not one that is criticizing and sarcastic.
I have copied her in this sense, my objective being to uplift others and scatter a little
sunshine!

Because I have somewhat stolen Holly's clever blog theme thing, I've decided that she
shall be my first victim of compliments and praise!
